VASER Liposuction

Vaser liposelection-belmont Patented VASER liposelection technology now offers an excellent alternative for removing stubborn fat deposits, providing you with a smooth new shape and brief recovery.

Is VASER Right for you?

If you are frustrated by the resistance of certain body areas to diet and exercise, VASER Lipo can provide a solution. By using ultrasonic energy to break apart fat deposits in a minimally-invasive manner, the surrounding tissues are protected from unnecessary disruption.

Effective for both small target areas that have not responded to exercise and major reconstructive surgery, VASER Liposuction may also be combined with other procedures to achieve the best long-term results.

Although there are limits to the amount of fat that can be removed, Dr. Feledy can assist you with your decision about potential areas for contouring, anticipated results, and the recovery process.

FAQ About VASER Liposuction

What are the steps of the VASER Liposuction procedure?

To begin the procedure, a mixture of epinephrine and lidocaine are injected to numb the area, expand the tissues and constrict the blood vessels. The VASER probe is then inserted and begins to emit ultrasonic waves, which make the probe vibrate and gently break apart the fat tissue only. A specialized suction device is inserted to remove the broken down fat cells, and the procedure is repeated throughout the target areas.

Who is an ideal candidate for VASER Liposuction?

Ideal candidates for VASER Liposuction have struggled to remove weight from problem areas despite exercise and a healthy diet, but are not extremely overweight. Healthy, firm skin will help the procedure to have a natural final appearance. Non-smokers with a healthy lifestyle and a stable weight are excellent candidates for a preferred outcome.

What happens after the procedure?

Due to the less-invasive nature of the VASER Liposuction procedure, patients are often able to return to their normal schedule within a few days, rather than the much longer recovery time of traditional liposuction procedures. Within a few weeks, the swelling should subside and the tissues and skin will begin to shrink to better accommodate your new body shape. Your body should reach its final appearance within three to six months.

Are there any side effects?

Potential side effects of the VASER Liposuction procedure are similar to traditional liposuction, but occur with less frequency and severity due to the minimally invasive nature of the VASER process. These may include nerve damage, pain, swelling, blood clots, scarring or heart and lung complications. As with any invasive procedure, there is the risk of infection, bleeding and poor wound healing. Dr. Feledy will discuss these risks with you in-depth during the consulation process.
