A natural, fuller look

Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation Surgery

It is now possible to use fat grafting (the transferring of fat cells) from one portion of your body to another to increase its appearance. This can be used instead of a surgical breast augmentation and, in some cases, fat transfer may also be used to finalize a natural look around a breast implant. There are options of augmenting the breasts entirely with fat grafting. The procedure removes fat cells from your abdomen, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere. Dr. Feledy and Dr. Maiorino then re-implants these fat cells beneath the skin to increase volume and improve the breast shape.

"With each patient looking for a breast fat transfer, I work to establish how the best result can be reached. The patients unique goals for their appearance are most important I work back from there on how to achieve that."

- Dr. Jules Feledy

“I didn't know a breast augmentation with fat transfer was possible until I met with Dr. Feledy. It seems like something from the future, the idea of taking fat from my butt and increasing the size of my chest. But that is exactly what happened.”

Recovery

What happens after a Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?

While some treatments require a brief recovery period, many patients resume normal activity right away. Expect some swelling, bruising or redness in both the donor and recipient sites. The severity of these symptoms will depend on the size and location of the treatment area. Stay out of the sun until redness and bruising subsides - usually about 48 hours. In the meantime, you may use makeup with sunblock protection to help conceal your condition. In some cases, swelling and puffiness in the recipient site will last for several weeks, especially if a large area was treated.

Results

How long do the breast fat transfer results last?

Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation patients can expect to retain anywhere from 50%-80% of the fat transferred. The fat transferred to the breast that successfully takes is permanent. Since not all of the fat that is placed within the breast will become incorporated, some patients will need additional fat injections to obtain the desired results. Dr. Feledy or Dr. Maiorino will advise you on how to maintain your results. Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation
Frequently Asked Questions

The idea of fat transfer breast augmentation is simple. Fat grafting is taking fat cells from an undesired portion of the body and repurposing them for use in another area where the fat is desired. In the case of breast augmentation, the fat transfer method is used for increasing the volume in all or part of the breasts. This procedure is also known as a Breast Augmentation with Fat Grafting.

Fat is withdrawn from the donor site, usually the thighs, abdomen, buttocks, or other area with excess fat via liposuction. The fat is then processed and injected into the breasts to create natural, full looking breasts with your body's own cells. You'll get the benefits of both larger breasts created with natural materials as well as slimming from the liposuction.

It depends on several different factors including your body type, medical history and the look you want to achieve. We will help you determine what approach to breast augmentation is best for you. Both Dr. Feledy and Dr. Maiorino have years of experience and will explain your specific options when they meet with you. They will perform an examination during your first consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. When going with a fat grafting option, slight overfilling may be necessary to compensate for some of the inevitable fat re-absorption by the body. When trying to augment the breasts with only fat grafting methods, you must keep in mind that sufficient fat must be available for it to be a viable option. If sufficient fat is not present to achieve your goals, other options for augmentation will be discussed to help to get the look you are trying to achieve.
