Breast Implant Removal
Some women decide to have their breast implants removed. Different from a breast implant revision, which would be either getting smaller or larger implants or changing something about your breast augmentation, a breast implant removal is to take implants out and leave you with a beautiful, natural looking result. There are several removal options depending on your unique situation, such as if you have capsular contracture and may need a capsulectomy along with removing the breast implants. A physical exam or radiological review will help Dr. Feledy determine how best to help you.

Dr. Feledy prescribes pain medication, which you may choose to take to aid your recovery. After a few days, many people are able to walk around without medication. However, you absolutely must not engage in exercise, heavy lifting, or strenuous activities. You may not resume those until at least three weeks after surgery, and sometimes more time is needed. For those returning to work, expect to fatigue more easily and feel sore by the end of the day.
During your healing period, your breasts may have lumpy areas where sutures are located. Do not be alarmed, as this is common for up to two months following surgery. The sutures are absorbed into the body and lumps will disappear. Following the surgery your breasts will need up to eight weeks to heal fully and present their final shape.
